So you’ve hired the best carpet cleaner in Fresno and Clovis California. That’s right, none other than the fabulous Aaron’s Quality Cleaners. You’ve set a date and agreed on a price. Yet there is a niggling curiosity in the back of your mind. “What exactly does my carpet cleaner do and why is this company better than some other outfit?”
None of us likes to get taken advantage of, and a lack of knowledge on a subject really makes us unsure if we are really getting a good deal or not. Of course we here at Aaron’s think that there is no better carpet cleaning in Fresno than our company. Why? Because of our process.
When beginning the company in 2007, Aaron researched all the carpet cleaning methods available and settled on the one he thought would most meet his customers’ needs … steam cleaning.
But I digress. Here is how the steam cleaning process works:
A. The first thing a technician does when beginning to clean your carpet is to use a pre-spray over the entire area. We use a product called EnvireX. Like its name suggests, this is an environmentally friendly spray that is biodegradable. Although it does emit an odor, there are no added fragrances to aggravate possible allergies in our clientele.
It also contains no solvents, butyl, soaps, surfactants or chlorides. This means carpets stay clean longer as there are no residues left behind to attract soil.
So if EnvireX doesn’t have all these soaps and solvents, then how exactly does it work? It is an “Oxygen Release Emulsifier.” This means the spray adds an oxygen atom to the carpet which helps break down the soils and causes them to bind to the liquid. The liquid is later extracted out of the carpet, taking its new friends with it. The process destroys microorganisms and brightens carpet.
B. Once the pre-spray has been applied, the technician then brings in the “big guns.” In our case, a Hydramaster Rotary Extractor. This is a large, 70 pound machine with six pedals on its underside for agitating carpet. Hot water (not actually steam) is sprayed into the carpet while the extractor swipes it 650 times a minute. This high end machine allows the carpet to get the best agitation possible so that the soil will come off the fibers. It then extracts the soiled water back out into a special holding tank in the carpet cleaning van.
C. There are some important factors to be aware of during this “hot water extraction” process. The water needs to be at least 240 degrees, the temperature needed to kill things like dust mites in the carpet. This high temperature cannot be maintained if the cleaning equipment is not connected to a high power source.
This is where the term “truck mounted” comes in. A portable pack on a technician’s back, or a plug-into-the wall model, is unable to maintain correct water temperatures. This lesser equipment is also unable to provide the power needed to support deep, continuous cleaning. Finally, a truck mounted system is needed to extract as much water as possible during the cleaning process so that carpets dry faster, without developing issues caused by sitting in water left behind.
D. Much of the time, spots and discolorations come out during this regular cleaning process. If not, then a technician will need to “treat” the stain. This involves using more potent products that are not as environmentally friendly.
There are a variety of products used for different stains. From coffee to grease to pet stains, there is a special product made especially for each type. If the source of the stain is unknown, then the technician may need to use a variety of products in his attempt to remove the stain.
It can be a lot of information to absorb in one reading, but think about your new sense of security. Not only can you feel good about those carpet cleaners coming into your home, you can feel good about the choice you made in us, Aaron’s Quality Cleaner, truly the best carpet cleaning in Fresno!
