Interlocking carpet is a great choice in flooring options today. It is a real “go to” idea for homes with kids or pets. It allows you to have the comfort and beauty of carpet, but still makes the spills and accidents manageable.
Interlocking carpets are easy to install. At least, easier than roll carpet. You can do it yourself with fairly minimal cutting and less carpet remnant waste. Best of all, if you get a stain or extra heavy spill on your carpet, you can simply “unlock” that one piece, take it to the sink, and clean it off. Once it’s dry, you “lock” it back into place looking good as new.
The other fun part about interlocking carpet is the design option. A whole world of color and choice opens up to you when looking at carpet tiles. It can make designing a kid’s room fabulous because you can choose outrageous colors and then place them in whichever way suits you best. Then when you grow tired of them or are ready for a change in decor, you can easily pick them up and use the pre-existing floor, or another group of carpet tiles to meet your ever changing decorating needs.
Carpet tiles can be a bit more expensive than a number of the roll-type carpets. Looking online is a great way to get started. Online stores will often have sales or will make the shipping free. Plus, there are inspiring pictures online to help you get started on that special room idea. Interlocking carpets are also used a entry mats, patio mats, or even area rugs when you want to make a room really pop with color.
So start thinking about livening up your room with this fun, often overlooked, choice in flooring!
