A frequently asked question of any carpet cleaners is, “How long will it take my carpets to dry?” As with so many questions, the answer depends on a variety of factors.
The most important factor is what type of equipment is used to extract the water from your carpet when the cleaning is performed. We like this question because Aaron’s Quality Cleaners uses the very best extraction method available. Our truck mounted systems provides the muscle needed to sustain a powerful, deep suction. Combined with our super efficient Rotary Extractor, there is no deeper clean or more thorough water withdrawal.
Now that we’ve determined the factor of equipment supremecy on dry times, let’s look at the other factors involved.
In the hot summer months here in the Central Valley, most carpets take about half a day to dry. If it is winter time, or rainy, then carpets can take an entire day to dry thoroughly.
Leaving the windows open on a nice day can really speed up the drying process after your carpets have been cleaned. Although we have great weather in California, not all days are helpful for drying carpets.
If the weather outside is rainy, foggy, or humid, then the carpets will not dry as fast. One thing you can do to speed up the dry times in these conditions is to turn your ceiling fans on to help lift the water off the carpets and provide good air circulation.
Another option is to turn the fan on your thermostat on, even without the heating or cooling setting. Using the heat setting, however, will give that extra edge you may need if you’re in a hurry to get back on your carpets.
Cut pile carpets dry the fastest. Moisture is able to escape through the top cut of the carpet fibers much more easily than in fibers that are looped, such as Berber.
Aaron’s does offer a speed dry service at a reasonable cost if you are having your carpets cleaned in anticipation of imminent company.
One thing that everybody who gets their carpets cleaned must know it to never put furniture with wood or metal footings back onto wet carpet. It will leave a stain that may never come out. We carry plastic slips in our cleaning vans that you can request if you would like to replace your furniture before the carpets dry.
