Does Your Tile Make You Smile?
Julie Rosenfeld serves as an Administrative Assistant for Aaron’s Quality Cleaners, a carpet-cleaning company that services the Fresno and Clovis (CA) areas. She is the author of “Julie’s Corner” and provides information and perspective on topics related to the carpet-cleaning industry.
Let’s talk about the dentist. Huh? Yep, the dentist. I don’t know a single person who enjoys going to the dentist. Yet at some point in our lives we all go and get a check up and have our teeth cleaned. We do it because we know it’s important to the overall health of our teeth and, honestly, that “just cleaned” feeling is pretty great!
We then maintain our teeth fairly adequately throughout the year. Brush daily. Floss after popcorn. Gargle and spit. But we’re not perfect, so eventually we get plaque build up, maybe coffee stains, or even a cavity. We check out our once dazzling smile in the mirror and say, “Well, I guess I’d better make an appointment.”
Now I want you to stretch with me and think about the tile in your home the way you think about your teeth. Your tile was beautiful when it was new. People could walk forever back and forth on it without it showing any wear. Drinks could spill and be cleaned up without causing a lasting stain. It just invited people to walk on it and admire its beauty.
But like teeth, tile eventually gets a bit ragged. Not around the edges so much, but right in the middle where everybody walks. We gaze at our once perfect grout and say, “Why didn’t I choose grout that was the color of dirt?” It becomes a little too obvious that the endless traffic has finally left its mark on our elegant, yet indestructible flooring. Grime has snuck up on us and coated our tile with a film of “plaque” that we just can’t seem to get rid of no matter how much we brush, uh, scrub, uh mop! It’s time to call a professional.
The guy known for the best carpet cleaning in Fresno and Clovis is also known for the best tile cleaning in Fresno and Clovis! Like a dentist, when Aaron’s comes to clean they have a process. This is what it looks like. First, he pre-treats the tile and grout with a degreaser and emulsifier. This breaks up and loosens the dirt and grease embedded into the tile. Then he takes hot, soft water and runs it through a rotary extractor and pumps it out at high pressure to clean and sanitize the floors. Finally the dirt, grime and water get sucked right back up into the machine and head to the van’s recovery tank. The tile shines and the grout is shockingly clean! If I hadn’t observed the process personally, I’d say it was magic!
When he leaves, we look around and become overwhelmed with that “just cleaned” feeling. We see our tile returned to its former glory and it fills us with a sense of joy and relief. We admire our choice in grout like we did in the beginning. Once again daily maintenance is manageable. In the back of our minds we know that in another six months to a year there will be another build up of dirt and grime, but now we have the answer. And knowing we can call Aaron’s Quality Cleaners brings that dazzling smile to our faces!Aaron’s Quality Cleaners cleans carpet, tile, aggregate and upholstery in Fresno, Clovis, Madera and Sanger California
