Tile Cleaning Done Right

Tile Cleaning

Keeping tile and grout clean can seem like a never-ending process. All that dirt and grime and mop water seems to be magnetically drawn to the grout lines of our tile where it settles in for the long haul. Then it just builds up, gets ground down, and becomes ingrained, layer by layer, into the grout. Just thinking about the overwhelming cleaning process could make one break down into tears of frustration.

If you’ve reached your limit, then it may be time to give Aaron’s Quality Cleaners a call. We have top of the line equipment, and tried and true solvents, in our arsenal of cleaning supplies that we can bring to bear on that grimy, dirty grout.

The general cleaning process looks like this:

  1. First we pre-spray the tile and grout with a product we love called Viper Venom. This grime-eating agent is the first wave of attack waged against the accumulated build-up of dirt.
  2. Next we spray on water that has been heated up to 240 degrees. Not only is this water hot enough to kill bacteria, but the high temperature further ensures the soil break-down process.
  3. We run our top-of-the-line tile cleaning machine over the tile and grout and allow it to do its job of scrubbing away the grit, layer by layer.
  4. If we find that some of the grout lines are not coming clean, then we unsheathe our super-duper grout scrubbing machine to get into those smaller areas and confront the most stubborn stains.
  5. Finally, we rinse all the grime and cleaning products away with a fresh wave of high temperature water, followed closely by a powerful suction vacuum made possible by the robust truck-mounted system.

The new, pristine condition of that tile and grout is more than one could have thought possible. It’s enough to bring tears of joy to any home owner’s eyes.

If you find yourself relating to this article, don’t fret any longer. Give us a call for a pressure-free quote right over the phone. Then melt into that sigh of relief as you leave the scrubbing to us!

Julie's Van Before and After for BlogOne of the many various benefits of having  high-quality, powerful carpet cleaning equipment is that it works on vehicles as well! I entered the office one day this week with the words, “Well, I fumbled my coffee all over my van this morning!” I was simply stating how my morning was going (not well), I wasn’t expecting Aaron to actually take action to help me clean it out.

The cleaning technicians were already on jobs with the best equipment, but Aaron didn’t let that deter him from helping out this damsel in distress (you would shake your head at the disarray of our family van).  He gathered together what he needed to get the job done and went to work on that coffee stain.

Now, Aaron is just about the hardest worker I’ve ever seen, but this time he pulled out his super secret weapon … Benjamin! That’s right, Aaron and Alicia’s five year old son came out to help Daddy clean Miss Julie’s van. Have I ever mentioned how much I love working for this family? Well, between the two of them they made that big, ugly coffee stain a mere memory and turned my yucky morning into a true joy.

I’ve posted a before and after picture here so the world can see what a great job they did. And this was just a quickie-clean! Imagine what a real clean would leave my floor mats looking like?!Aaron and Benjamin cropped

So a great big thank you to Aaron and Benjamin for giving me a super great Christmas present! I love it!

Guest-Ready Carpets

Friday, December 13th, 2013

December 13, 2013

Van at Julie's for BlogI posted about my dirty carpets last week, bemoaning the fact that I have guests coming for Christmas and my carpets are truly embarrassing. Well, now I can joyfully say that my carpets WERE embarrassing. Currently, they are deep-cleaned, healthy carpets ready for sleepover guests.

We ended up with more company than anticipated coming to our house for a week at Christmas. That meant not only would one couple have to use the disastrous kids’ room, but the other couple would have to sleep on the office floor. Not too bad unless your carpets look like mine did.

Well, much to my benefit, Aaron’s Quality Cleaners recently hired a new technician named Tim. Tim needed to get some experience under his belt without making what we call “rookie” mistakes at a customer’s house. Lucky me got to have her house used as the guinea pig for Tim’s training.

I posted the pictures of the before and after results here, but they just don’t do justice to the difference that was made. When we removed the area rug from the office, you could see a distinct line left in the color of the carpet. That, and quite a number of dark spots at the entrance to the room, had me wringing my hands in desperation and hanging my head in shame.

Tim came through with the magic solvents, quality equipment, and powerful truck-mounted system and turned my carpets into a beautiful cream color I had forgotten they were capable of. We had an old dog urine spot and a child’s vomit spot in our bedroom that we had been unsuccessful removing in the past. When Tim was done I couldn’t even remember where exactly the stains had been! The spotty traffic area and the lines left by the area rug in the office had also disappeared.

As with all our technicians, Tim was friendly, punctual, and professional. I give him two big thumbs up as a fabulous new addition to Aaron’s Quality Cleaners! Give us a call and you too can experience a well-trained, professional technician arriving to make your carpets smile again!

Preparing for Christmas

December 3, 2013

Gingerbread House

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!” Finally! I have patiently waited until after Thanksgiving (mostly) to put on the Christmas music and feel the excitement of the coming holiday season. Today it has finally turned cold and I am beginning to think about the houseful of people I will have staying with me for the week! Aghhhh! I better get crackin’!

One of the biggest issues in my home is the carpet. I know, you would think that working for a carpet cleaner would mean I have great looking carpets. But, truthfully, I am too embarrassed to have the technicians even see my carpets. With three kids, there is a lot of traffic and one ugly, goopy stain caused by something called “noise putty”.

But we are suddenly using all the rooms in the house for guests, especially the two kids’ bedrooms and the study where the kids spend so much of their time doing homework and playing on the computer. No more putting it off. I need help!

When Aaron’s Quality Cleaners comes to my house I know that they will leave it looking so much better than even I can imagine. And I’ve had them clean there before! But I forget how dirty that carpet gets until I see the layers of grime removed and the fibers restored to their former glory. And that STAIN! I got so used to it that I stopped seeing it until I viewed things through the eyes of my anticipated guests.

If you’ve taken a look at your carpet lately and discovered that maybe you’ve been overlooking the obvious as well, then join me this Christmas and call the best carpet cleaner in Fresno! Then bring on the Christmas get-togethers with all the joy they instill!

Sweet Potato Stains

Sweet Potato Stains

Were you aware that there is a shortage of sweet potatoes as we head into the holiday season this year? It turns out that there were heavy rains in the South that affected the sweet potato and yam crop for 2013. Not only are there fewer jumbo sweet potatoes, but the crop is arriving late due to the set back that occurred in the spring.

Now I realize that this may actually be great news to some as they sit down to their Thanksgiving feast. To others of us, however, it could be quite the loss to the taste buds. If you are lucky enough to have purchased your sweet potatoes early, then breathe a sigh of relief. You can also breathe a sigh of relief if your company happens to get their yummy yams on your lovely carpet. We here at Aaron’s Quality Cleaners have  laid out the perfect stain removing procedure for just such an occurrence.

1. As with any stain removing procedure, be sure to test the cleaning product in a small inconspicuous place of your               carpet before committing it to a more obvious area.

2. Scrape up as much of the potato as you can using a plastic spoon and blot up any remaining liquid with a clean, dry              towel.

3. Mix 2 cups of lukewarm water with 1 tablespoon of clear, liquid, dish-washing soap.

4. Sprits the cleaning solution on the soiled area being careful not to over saturate it.

5. Blot the solution up using a clean, dry, white towel. Do not rub the stain.

6. Repeat these steps until the stain is gone.

7. If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can mix 2 cups of lukewarm water with 1 tablespoon of ammonia in place of          the dish-washing liquid solution.

And as always, if those crazy, late-arriving sweet potatoes give you too much grief, give a shout-out to the best carpet cleaner in Fresno! We love making your carpet smile!

Cat Urine

Wednesday, November 20th, 2013

November 20, 2013

Cat Urine.jpg

I got a new cat! Yep … that means I’ll be posting about cat issues for awhile. I’ve never had a cat actually live inside my house before, so this is a new experience for me. I should qualify that this cat is new to me, but not new to life in general. He is already two years old, my daughters and I just adopted him three days ago from the SPCA.

Working for Fresno’s best carpet cleaner, I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about cats and carpet, cats and furniture, cats and walls, cats and bedspreads. I’ve also heard that it was the male cats you especially had to watch out for when it came to spraying. That’s why we were going to get a female cat. I guess you can’t help who you fall in love with.

We named our huge, eleven pound cat Prince Albert. Lucky for us (’cause my husband would kick him out otherwise) Albert really is a prince when it comes to going in his litter box. The sweetheart even held it, meowing, when he couldn’t figure out how to use the door on the box. Phew! That could have been a really bad day!

Cats seem to pee inside for two main reasons, although I’m sure there are plenty of reasons out there. One is due to a urinary tract infection and the other has to do with being territorial. You can visit our post Cat Urine Versus Carpet to learn more about the “why” behind this issue. Whatever the reason, once your cat has done the deed the smell left behind can be almost impossible to remove. There are a lot of products out there toting to be full of success. The one thing I know to work great is the deodorizing process here at Aaron’s Quality Cleaners.

We don’t guarantee that we can get all the odor out, but we do guarantee that we have the best process and products available to do the job right. Cat odor is actually the hardest odor to remove from a home. We are able to remove it from the carpet itself, and even from much of the carpet padding. But once the urine is on the walls or in the subfloor, you are probably looking at hiring a contractor to come in and either replace those sections of your home, or paint a sealer over the damaged areas and then cover them up again.

I know, not what any home or cat owner wants to hear. But all hope is not lost. It can be done, and it can start right now with what is usually the biggest culprit … the carpet. Our technician will bring an ultraviolet light to a home with urine issues and use it to find the origin of the odor. If the light suggests that the urine has seeped past the base of the carpet and into the pad, then our technician will use a syringe type of instrument to inject the deodorizer into the carpet padding and eat away at the offending deposit.

I love my new cat. I love my carpet. With Aaron’s Quality Cleaners’ help, I know that these two loves can coexist together in harmony. Let the guys with the know-how help you too!

Upholstery Upkeep

Upholstery Upkeep

Sometimes we forget that our upholstery, like our carpet, needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. In fact, most of us don’t remember this fact until our sofas look so gross and worn that we consider the cost of just getting a new one altogether. Let’s face it, when fabrics get dirty, then the uphill battle of getting them clean again can just seem like too much effort.

So before your furniture gets the better of you, take a moment to discover the best way to maintain your upholstery between professional cleanings. By following these 5 steps you can not only prolong the life of your furniture but may even be able to prolong the time in between professional cleanings.

1. Vacuum regularly.

When it comes to sofas, regularly can be once a month, or even once every other month if your household is not comprised of kids and pets. Vacuuming keeps the dust particles from imbedding into the fabric of your upholstery as people sit down and get comfortable. Removing these particles early will help to catch them before they have a chance to make themselves comfortable as well.

2. Remove spills promptly.

Just like any other spills, spills on the fabric of your upholstery will have a better chance of not becoming stains if you clean them up quickly. Always test any spot removers in an inconspicuous area of your furniture ahead of time to be sure you don’t create a bigger stain by applying the wrong product for your fabric. Blot(don’t rub) the spill with a clean, white towel. Apply the stain remover and then gently blot again. Vacuum the area to remove any particles left in the fabric.

3. Use covers.

Arm rests tend to soil more quickly than other areas of your furniture. Using arm covers can help to keep the soil off the original fabric. A decorative blanket on the back of a chair or couch can also help keep hair oils from causing greasy stains. If you own a pet, a special blanket or bed place where he likes to sit can help to keep that area from looking dirty too quickly.

4. Mix up those cushions.

Another good idea is to rearrange the cushions of your furniture from time to time. This will keep one cushion from showing wear before the others and maintain the uniformity of your piece. Also of note is that the fabric of your upholstery may fade in the sunlight. Try to place furniture away from direct sunlight or close blinds and drapes if possible.

5. Call in the professionals.

Yep! Eventually everybody’s upholstery needs a deep, healthy clean that can only be done by professionals. The high-tech, ultra powerful machinery invested in by service providers can reach the dirt that we are unable to get to with our own  everyday tools. An extensive cleaning will prolong the life of your upholstery more than all the above steps put together.

Of course, when you’re ready to have that deep, healthy clean, give us a call here at Aaron’s Quality Cleaners, the best upholstery cleaner in Fresno! You’ll be glad you did.

Funny or Not?!

Funny or NotHere’s a funny story about a dog owner’s attempt to keep her new dog from urinating on the carpet:

A woman brought her sweet, new dog home after falling in love with it at the animal shelter. The dog had lived in an apartment with no backyard at her former residence. Unfortunately, the previous owner had trained the dog to use a box full of carpet as her bathroom instead of  “going” outside.

When the dog saw her new home she was overjoyed with the wall-to-wall bathroom that had been installed for her everyday needs. The new owner, however, was less than thrilled with this unforeseen development. At the same time, she didn’t want to traumatize her pet by being too harsh. After thinking about the situation for awhile, she came up with an action plan. As the dog soiled areas of the carpet, the new owner would meticulously cut out the fouled sections and throw them onto the grass in the backyard.

Eventually this unconventional tactic began to show positive results. The dog was a smart one, and managed to put two and two together. Much to her new owner’s relief, her sweet new dog now carries out her business on a regular basis in the backyard!

If you find yourself in a battle of the wits against a urinating pet, give a call to Fresno’s best carpet cleaner,  Aaron’s Quality Cleaners.  We’ve had our fair share of experience in this unfortunately common pet owner predicament.

Another AQC Success

I know you hear us say it over and over again, but we really are the best Fresno carpet cleaner! Just look at the picture on this page and let it speak for itself. This is simply one more example of the miracles we are able to perform.

I must admit, our work tends to be seen best in rental properties. We have a number of property management companies that use us on a regular basis because of the tremendous difference we are able to bring to filthy carpets. Renters will often leave carpets in such a soiled mess that the carpets appear un-salvageable. We will be asked to go take a look and determine whether all hope is lost, or if we can work our magic on them. So much of the time the answer is that YES we can save that carpet!

Now, not all carpets are this bad. As a homeowner you have probably taken great care to protect the investment you made in wall-to-wall carpeting. However, we all know that accidents happen and that eventually every carpet must be professionally cleaned. In fact, the Carpet and Rug Institute recommends that carpets be professionally cleaned once a year in order to prolong the life of the carpet.

No matter how good of a vacuum cleaner you use, or how often you vacuum, even vacuum cleaning can’t remove all the soil from carpets. As the soil sits in the fibers, and people walk on the carpet, then the soil grinds into the carpet fibers and weakens them. The result is wear and tear on the carpet. This wear and tear, unfortunately, then hinders a carpet from ever looking truly clean again. The longer this goes on, the worse the result on the life of the carpet.

So whether your carpets are in need of some deep, emergency cleaning, or just their annual, high-quality, professional clean, give a shout out to the Fresno carpet cleaning company that can make your floors smile again!
