Aaron’s did it Again!

Aaron's did it again

Every now and then I just have to brag about the work we do here at Aaron’s Quality cleaners. I’m the first to admit that I never knew there was such a drastic difference between carpet cleaning companies. As far as I knew, they all cleaned the same way and it was just a matter of choosing the guy who answered his phone and didn’t charge an exorbitant amount of money.

Wrong! Proper equipment, trustworthy chemicals, experience, and well-trained technicians make a huge difference. I’m proud to work for a company that takes true pride in the work they do.

This picture came in from one of our technicians this week. Wow! We have not photo shopped this photo in any way. No added contrast, just plain and simple, unbelievable cleaning! This is the reason so many property managers call us to save the carpets in the homes they rent. We can do the same for you. If you live in the Fresno or Clovis area, then we are the right choice for you. Give us a call and let us save your carpets too!

What’s the Secret?

Secret

We love to hear the phrases:

“How come you guys can get my carpet so much cleaner than the other guys?”

“I’ll never use anyone else again now that I’ve seen what you can do for my carpet!”

“I’ve used other cleaners and my carpets look dirty again in a month. How come that never happens when you clean for me?”

These are confirmation to us that we are doing things right. Aaron’s business plan is fairly simple: Do a great job, while providing excellent customer service, and customers will continue to be your customers for life. And that is so true. Discovering an excellent service provider with a fair price makes us feel good about our abilities to make wise decisions. And, let’s face it, why mess with something when it is already working so well for you?

So what is Aaron’s Quality Cleaners’ secret to success? Its top notch equipment, high quality technicians, tried and true products, and intensive training. In the seven years Aaron has been in business, he has continued to narrow down the cleaning process and hone it into a fine working machine. He keeps up on the latest equipment and chemicals in order to take advantage of the best supplies available. He sends his technicians to classes on odor removal, he listens to the feedback of his customers, and gives his all every time.

Most carpet manufacturers only honor their warranties when their carpets are cleaned by the hot water extraction method.  That’s because it’s the best! There is no other process with the same depth of cleaning and power of extraction. It guarantees a vigorous agitation of the carpet fibers to fully remove the soils and a power source capable of eliminating grime to the very base of the carpet, not leaving anything behind. No detergents remain in the carpet to attract soil and make it look dirty again in a month.

Aaron takes pride in his work and guarantees every cleaning, because above everything else, it is a happy customer that makes a happy business owner.

Give him a call today and see what he can do for your carpet!

Clean Aggregate

Wednesday, February 18th, 2015

February 18, 2015

aggregate cleanWhen aggregate floors look good, they look really good! You can already hear what’s coming next, can’t you? When they look bad, they look really bad! Like tile floors, the dirt kind of creeps up on one and you don’t realize how bad it is until it’s so far gone that it’s beyond your ability to cope.

Lucky for you, Aaron’s Quality Cleaners knows a thing or two about the process of cleaning aggregate flooring. We’ve heard from quite a few customer about how other professionals can’t seem to get their aggregate floors to look really clean. And we must admit, it has been a technique learned mainly through experience. Sometimes only trial and error will truly prove the value of a cleaning chemical or cleaning process.

Most of the battle seems to be in regards to the amount of water it takes to properly clean these floors. Aggregate is so very porous. That means that water gets down past those pebbles and sits beneath the floor causing all kinds of trouble. Trouble that usually manifests itself in the form of a terrible, mildew-y, type of odor.   So the rub is that you have to use a lot of water to get aggregate truly clean, but using a lot of water causes a horrible odor.

Aaron’s Quality Cleaners walks the fine line between these two factors and comes out smelling like roses. J Well, you get the point. Because we are a truck-mounted system, we have strong enough power source to heat our water up to 240 degrees. That’s hot enough to kill those evil germs lurking beneath the stones of your aggregate floor. The cleaning chemical is fairly caustic, but it does a great job! When we’re done scrubbing, the floor is thoroughly rinsed and the water extracted.

Now comes the tricky part. The top of the aggregate will dry quickly. It’s the underneath that causes problems. Because the stones are so porous, it can take a few days for the floor to truly dry. Days of trapped water just sitting around looking to get into trouble. We have found a great blend of chemicals to spray on the floor before we leave to help with this drying process. Not only that, but we will leave you a spray bottle of product to use over the next few days to ensure your floors dry properly.

You have to admit, this is service at its best!  We care about doing a great job because we want to turn you into a customer for life. The best way to do that is to give you a fabulous clean each and every time. So give us a call when you’re ready to get a good, deep, professional clean on those aggregate floors. You’ll be glad you did!

In Between Tile Cleanings

Thursday, February 5th, 2015

February 5, 2015

In Between

Getting my ceramic tile floors cleaned is an interesting experience for me. My tile never really looks all that dirty to me until one day I look down and wince and wonder how long our family has been living on such dirty floors. But even then I don’t truly appreciate the level of filth I have sunk to until the professionals come out. The before and after contrast is always drastic and a bit disconcerting.

Working at Aaron’s Quality Cleaners earns me the perk of an occasional cleaning of my choice. That means I actually know the technician who comes out to clean…like personally. This in turn means I get to feel the full embarrassment of having my dirty floors exposed not just to someone I know, but to someone who knows about clean floors. I comfort myself with the knowledge that at least they’ve seen the worst of the worst and little old me and my grimy floors are no big deal to them.

And, of course, the feel of those clean tiles beneath my feet makes every red blush worth it. I slide loving over its new, smooth surface and love seeing the grout in its original color, without the areas of dark that tend to build up over time. For a few days I become crazy-mom, making the kids take of their shoes and running behind them with paper towels. But eventually life sets in again. Spills happen and dirt gets walked into the grooves. Cooking disasters and messy crafts leave their mark and my beautiful tile begins to build up gunk again.

Don’t get me wrong. I clean my tile. Okay, maybe I don’t really clean my tile often enough, but when I do clean I do a great job. The problem is that I’m not really sure how to clean my tile between professional cleans. It seems that no matter what I do, the grout gets dirty and the grime still builds up. Another perk about working for a floor cleaner is that he has a lot of good suggestions when I bring him these dilemmas.

Unfortunately, it seems there is no substitute for that professional clean. However I’ve gleaned 4 pieces of information that I will pass on to all ceramic tile floor owners of the world.

1. Don’t use anything too acidic on your tile or it may break down the grout sealer, allowing stains and discolorations in.
2. Don’t use bleach or ammonia as it may discolor the grout over time.
3. Don’t use anything too soapy on your tile. Residue is the issue here. We don’t want that grimy build-up.
4. The best product is labeled “tile and grout cleaner” and can be found at most home centers. Saturate the floor with the cleaning solution and hot water and allow it to sit for about 5 minutes. Scrub and rinse well.

I find this information very helpful and I hope it helps you too as you strive to keep that tile and grout clean despite the best efforts of your family members. Remember that everyone has to get their tile professionally cleaned at some point if they are to stay ahead of the game. Here are a few true before and after pictures of tile Aaron’s Quality Cleaners has saved!

O Christmas Tree Stain

Thursday, December 11th, 2014

December 11, 2014

Oh Christmas Tree StainMerry Christmas! My family got our tree up early this year … for the first time ever! I hope it’s the start of a new tradition for us. The only downfall of this great achievement is that I have to keep the needles picked up longer and I have to remember to water the tree. I’m told I just need to water the tree as I would a regular house plant. The problem is that I have already killed all my poor houseplants due to my forgetfulness to water them. Big sigh. So our tree has gotten two very deep waterings since we put it up. One right away and the other about five days later. That third watering is still puttering around in my brain somewhere waiting to be transformed into action.

I’ll admit there is some hesitancy on my part regarding this mundane task. We have three lively girls (which I whole heartedly blame on my husband’s gene pool), a dog, and a cat. My experience in the past has not been the best regarding the Christmas tree, water, and small creatures. Our 3 year old knocked the tree over one year doing whatever 3 year olds do to Christmas trees. Meanwhile our small dog knocked it over another year vying for a particularly fishy smelling ornament (that ornament is a story in itself).

All of this to say that watering the Christmas tree leads to thoughts of dirty tree water staining my carpet. Hence, I just “forget” to water it at all. After all, dry needles are easier to deal with than tree-water carpet, right?! I still say yes!

However, if you happen to experience the same predicament regarding your carpet, there is hope. Not only do I have a remedy for the water spot, but one for the tree sap as well.

Christmas tree water stain:

  1. Blot up as much of the water as you possible can.
  2. Make a solution of ½ vinegar and ½ water.
  3. Saturate the stained area and rub it in with your fingers.
  4. Blot up as much of the vinegar water as you can with a clean, dry towel.
  5. Repeat until the stain has lifted.

If by chance you did not see the water stain while it was still wet, then you may need to hire a professional (like Aaron’s Quality Cleaners, hint, hint) to come out and work that stain for you.

Christmas tree sap stain:

  1. Test all products in an inconspicuous area of your carpet before using them to be sure they will not remove the color from your carpet fibers.
  2. Harden the sap by applying ice so that it freezes or rubbing alcohol so that it dries. Then carefully pick it out of the carpet with your fingers or a knife.
  3. Lay a wet cloth over the sap for about an hour to soften it. Carefully pick the broken down pieces out of the carpet with your fingers or a knife.
  4. Mix 1 tablespoon of dish washing detergent with 2 cups of water. Work some of the mixture into the sap stain and then blot it up with a clean, dry towel. Repeat until the stain is gone.
  5. Rinse the soapy water out with clear water and blot until dry.

Accidents happen, but you now have some tools to help you maintain your carpet in the midst of the Christmas chaos. Give these solutions a try, and remember to give us a call when you are ready for that deep, professional clean. We love to make carpets smile!

It Ain’t Your Grandma’s Sofa Anymore

Thursday, December 4th, 2014

December 4, 2014

Upholstery BasicsDo you remember when your grandma’s sofa was covered in plastic? I actually can’t remember Grandma’s sofa ever not being this way. The rumor was that the plastic came off for extremely important guests, but somehow I must have missed those special days.

There’s no question about it, sofas get a lot of wear and tear. It’s not really all that surprising that wrapping sofas in plastic became a fad. Furniture is expensive and the desire to protect it, and make it last as long as possible, is a wonderful trait. I’m thinking now, however, that there may just be a better way.

Nowadays plastic covered furniture is out of vogue … unless it is a modern piece made of a fun, retro plastic. If you go to someone’s house and sit on plastic covered furniture, you are usually thinking one of two things. Either that you were not important enough for them to remove it, or that they are a bit neurotic and eccentric (to put a good spin on it). Either way, it creates an awkward atmosphere. Not something most of us want our guests to experience in our homes.

But this still leaves the problem of making your sofa last its lifetime without settling for stains, odors, or just that I’m-getting-worn-out look. Since you’ve made it here to our blog, you know what’s coming next.

Biting the bullet, and paying to have a professional come out to give your upholstery a deep, healthy clean is not the end of the world. And if you can look at it in a different light, you are actually saving yourself money in the long run by investing in your furniture now. Soil gets trapped in the fabrics of our upholstery. When people sit on that dirt infused fabric, then the soil gets pressed in and rubbed against the fibers. This in turn causes wear on the fabric and weakens it. Now it not only looks grimy, but you will need to replace your furniture sooner than you had been prepared to.

Upholstery cleaning is actually a win-win situation, even for the owner of that furniture. Yes, there is a cost, and yes, we have built a business on provided this particular service. But you are the one who reaps most of the reward from the investment. Taking care of the things we own is always less expensive than buying new ones. Even if buying new ones is a bit fun.

So the long and the short of it is this: upholstery lasts longer and looks better if you get it professionally deep cleaned on a regular basis. We are in the business of provided high quality upholstery cleaning and would love to be considered as your cleaner when the opportunity arises. Please give us a call, and let us show you the difference we can make!

Ready for Thanksgiving?

It’s hard to imagine that Thanksgiving is already next week! There is so much to do to get ready for the special holiday at our house. Thanksgiving involves guests who stay the night, so I can’t just shut the doors to the dirty rooms. We will use all the rooms, hence all the rooms must be clean. Sigh. It is definitely good incentive to take care of things I should have been keeping up with anyway.

Traffic patterns and stains are suddenly unmistakable as I look at my carpet. What seemed so nice after vacuuming last week, now looks embarrassing as I think about my carpet being seen through the eyes of my guests. Luckily, I know where to go when my carpet look like this.

Also lucky is that Aaron’s Quality Cleaners knows what to do with carpets like mine. Not just mine either. I’ve noticed that we get very busy this time of year as others prepare for holiday guests as well. We have one spot left this week on our schedule and next week is booking up fast as the big feast day approaches.

So if the party’s at your house this year, then give us a call so we can come out and get your carpets guest-ready. We love being able to make the holidays that much more stress free!

Protectant: Is it worth it?

Friday, October 24th, 2014

10/24/2014

Carpet ProtectantWe often hear the questions, “Should I get carpet protectant? Does it truly work? Do I really need it?” In our professional opinion, the answer is a resounding, YES!

Contrary to what people often think, carpet and upholstery protectant is not simply a way for carpet cleaners to make more money. Yes, we do make a small margin of profit on this particular product, but please keep reading to find out why we consider it important to the overall life of your carpet.

A good protectant will provide the following benefits:

  1. It repels water and oils
  2. It resists stains
  3. It resists soil
  4. It makes carpet more likely to come clean

Protectant works by covering each carpet fiber with a barrier against its surrounding environment. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a magic solution that ensures your carpet will never become stained. It is however a wonderful tool to give you that extra needed time to blot up spills before they have the chance to soak into your carpet.

There are four main types of protectants available for use. I won’t bore you with the detail, partially because I can hardly understand them myself. It will suffice to simply list them here:

  • Fluorochemicals
  • Colloidal Silicas and acrylic polymers
  • Silicones
  • Carboxylate/Phenolic Carboxylate/Phenolic Chemicals

All four have something to offer in the way of carpet protectant. Fluorochemicals, however, come out the best all around. They prove themselves especially well when it comes to soil and stain resistance and water and oil repellency. True to form, Aaron utilizes the best protectant on the market. Namely, DuPont’s commercial product for carpet and upholstery protectant.

Here at Aaron’s Quality Cleaners, we have found protectant to work wonders for maintaining carpets between professional cleans. The technicians much prefer to clean protected carpet as they know they are likely to have a higher success rate as far as getting the soil out of the fibers of the carpet.

Customers are happier too as it prolongs the life of their carpet, makes it easier for them to preserve each cleaning, gives them time to get to the spills, and helps their carpet keep looking great throughout its life.

So if you’re waivering on the border of whether to spend the extra money on protectant for your carpet or upholstery, then waiver no more. In the long run, even in the short run, it is definitely worth the investment.
